Talisha is back...

...or at least trying to start trouble again. She posted a comment on this site which said, and I quote: "LINDSAY HARRISON IS GOING TO JAIL FOR POSTING FALSE INFORMATION ON GOOGLE". And apparently she has voted in the poll as well (note the one single "satisfied" vote).

The funny thing is, do to circumstances beyond my control, I have not been posting on this blog for quite some time, but apparently even the silent presence of this site offends her enough to demand her immediate action. And in true Talisha form, the action comes in the form of idle threats and random accusations. First of all, I must ask once again, what exactly makes her think that my name is Lindsay Harrison? As you'll remember, this is not the first time Talisha has been "certain" that she knows my name. Also, as it says at the very top of this page, defamation of character is only a viable cause for a lawsuit if the person making the defaming comments knows they are lies. However, everything on this site is, to the best of my knowledge, absolutely true. And even if everything was false, Talisha would have every right to sue, not put someone in jail.

Of course, in the midst of all this, you can always count on Talisha to provide a good chuckle. Just how, may I ask you, does someone post "on Google"? Anyone?

New Updates from Talisha

There have been a couple of updates to Talisha's new blog today. Now she's trying to use innuendo to threaten one poor woman, still claiming that it is that woman who runs "her blog" (this site) with other "scamming women", which is not the case. Then, exactly 35 minutes later, Talisha suddenly comes up with another person to accuse. What happened to "CONCRETE evidence based on her IP address"? (That phrase has conveniently been removed from Talisha's site - however you can still see a mention of "the blog" regarding the "grandmother" lawsuit in the first post). I wonder why she thinks anyone believes her anymore, after she's changed her story so many times.

When it comes down to it, Talisha says she's just doing the same thing in her blog as I have done in this one. There are, of course some major differences. The primary one is that of purpose. The purpose of this site is to share information about Ladys and Lads in order to prevent other buyers from getting scammed and hopefully to enable those who were scammed to recover what they lost. The purpose of Talisha's blog is purely revenge. She gains nothing by posting people's personal information except the satisfaction of harming others. Neither is anything gained by the cloth diapering community, since the buyers she names paid their money in full and never received the product, or if they did, it was one far inferior to what was promised to them. Another big difference, obviously, is that this site attempts to tell the truth, while her site makes claims she knows to be untrue, purely with the intent of harming others. That is the very deffinition of defaming statements.

Here is what one poster has to say about it:

"I tried to post this to that woman's webpage but for some reason it went poof! I wonder why?? I have done business with Lorena since her child was born and still do business with her. If you are the WAHM that made the diapers that she showed me then in fact I have to say I would not pay a dime for those and you should be embarrassed to be trying to sell them. You HAVE to know in your heart that you are not a professional? Owning a sewing machine and buying some supplies DOES NOT qualify you or somehow teach you to sew properly. I normally make Lorena’s’ diapers but have been taking a break for a couple of months now so I told her to order from a WAHM….my mistake. After her interaction with you I told her until I am back sewing to order some Bum Genius 3.0’s and she did…not a single problem with my diapers or the mass produced ones she actually got so who is to blame here?

And was there not a issue with shipping and it taking you forever to make what she did get as well? You did not send the entire order? You only did part of it!! Did you do delivery confirmation on it? If so where is that number? Will the weight of the one package received match both of her orderes?

My diapers are much higher end than yours and she has always paid me promptly with no issues. So if she was going to try to scam would she not do it for something a tad higher priced?? Maybe you should check your reviews of your "company"...and not be insulted; it is people stating the facts. Lorena took pictures of what she got from you and all I can say is you really, really need some sewing lessons. People do not want cheap, horribly made products. They want and will come back for more of a well made product even if it is priced much high than the cheap one…..you get what you pay for.

It is wrong of you to try to post people's names on here while hiding your own...although I do know who you are and I have no issue outing you for your totally unprofessional actions. Do you realize these people you name could sue you, not that I think you have two dimes to rub together (and no, the internet is not some screen you can hide behind and IP addresses are tracked….)

It is bad business to do what you are trying to do here…….and I will out you in the community…..but your reputation is already garbage so I am not sure that threat will make you rethink this. When customers file a “Juicy Apple” both sides are allowed to be told and English is Lorena’s second language so she is not comfortable giving her opinions online, nor is she that petty.

Considering I know who/what WAHM business(plural) you are have you ever considered that I can run my happy tail right on over to DS or DP or CDN and look in the threads about your product and I bet you the names on you blog match those who have said the same things I have said about the things you made Lorena….It is not them…..it is you. Learn to sew, learn about diapers more than reading a online page or two…..

And tell the truth….they approved her charge back against you for a reason….care to tell us why?

You need to remove all of these people’s names or come out on this page and give them the chance to have their side….I would think hitting the delete key on you blog might be better business sense….once you learn to sew.

Do you really want me to go post photos she sent me???

I reported her blog as well. even though my information is no where near it...I am not too sure if they care since I am not on her little hit list.
She is really off her rocker I believe... "

Another Rebound Site from Talisha

Skinner B. posted this information:

"WARNING!!! Talisha started her own retaliatory blogspot http://diaperbuyers.blogspot.com and has posted very erroneous information about me along with all my identifying information such as my name, address, email and cell number. She has also listed all of your names, which just blows my mind as we were all the ones who were ripped off by her. She says that I've been reported the Google, craigslist, etc and that I have defamed her grandmother. Huh???

Anyway, I have flagged her blog for listing my personal information and defamation/libel. Finally, someone actually gets use these terms ACCURATELY!!!!! If you see your name on their please also flag her blogspot so we can get her to shut up. She is so friggin' twisted it's ridiculous!!!!"

Another poster says:

"I too got an email with that www.diaperbuyers.blogspot.com from a clothlover@ymail.com. My name is listed under the "not sure what happened with these people, but here they are" list. It says that a seller's grandma is filing a defamation of character lawsuit against whoever started THIS blog. Huh? How can a seller's grandmother file defamation against a blog??? I'm confused. LOL."

Let me start out by saying, Talisha has proven once again that she has absolutely no idea who started this blog. I am not the person listed on her site as running this blog. She claims to have "CONCRETE proof that she created the blog based on her IP address". Sorry, sister, but you obviously need to find a new private investigator, because you're way off once again. "Based on her IP address"? Just saying the words "IP address" doesn't make it the truth. If you look up the IP address on a IP tracker, the address of this site is for the site's hosts - Blogger and Google - and it's the same exact IP address as Talisha's blog!

Oh, and you have to love "This is what we found by Googling her". Try it. If you Google Jennifer Thompson, you get a completely different address. This is obviously a lame attempt to come up with an explanation for having this person's information.

As far as the claim that these people "file a claim with Paypal after receiving product", Paypal has a specific category of claim for situations in which the product was received, but was significantly different than described". So filing a claim after the product is received may be fully justified.

The claim that posters on this site are reporting each other to Talisha is laughable. How could the three people who supposedly created this site have received all these tips in just the first 24 hours of the site's creation? And how would a poster on this site have private information on other people who posted here? This is clearly just Talisha trying to cause suspicion among the posters on this site so that fewer people will post and share information.

And don't even get me started about the claims regarding "a seller's grandmother". What would her grandmother have to do with anything? If this blog is about the seller, then why is the"grandmother" filing a defamation lawsuit, unless information about the "grandmother" is mentioned here? Does this prove our theory about a family connection between the addresses listed here, or between Ladys and Lads and Prep and Posh? And in case you were wondering, I have not been notified of any lawsuits brought against me yet.

All in all, this new blog of Talisha's just serves the same purpose that all of her other rebound sites have served: It makes her feel important, it makes her feel as though someone is listening to her, it gives us new hints about her name and location, it proves her poor spelling and grammar, and it uses up more of the time she should be using to sew diapers.

Oh, and if anyone knows how you can "report" someone to Google (honestly?), as Talisha claims to have done, please let me know.

The Site is Back Up

The Ladys and Lads site is back up again, still with no products, but with a brand new $5 "sale" starting this week. This just makes me sick.

More Diaper Photos

Toree has recieved her diapers! Here's what she says:

"I GOT MY DIAPERS!!! Fist of all, she claimed she was sending them several times. Then claimed to have sent them on May 7th, but the post mark is May 11th. Nearly 3 months after I ordered them!! The address I have on the "package" is:

PO BOX 3817
Paducah, KY 42002-3817

Here is the "package" I got:

The delivery confirmation # was never emailed to me. However, it was on the package. I tracked it back to the post office in Paducah.

And now on to the actual diapers themselves...

4 out of 5 were the fabric i picked out. They have a faint smell of cigarette, but mostly just smell musky. The soaker is 1-3 layers of whatever fabric she had laying around.

Here are the two I cut open:

The 5th one was completely weird. It felt very hard and stiff. So I cut it open and guess what's inside??? A TABLE CLOTH!!!!!!!! Hmmmm, sound familiar??? Here is the inside of them. This one has a table cloth inside:

The others have PUL inside, but it's only a strip of PUL.

The stitching isn't bad. 4 of them are actually not terrible, for $5 anyways. i would NOT consider them to be AIO's (which is what I ordered) but more like fitteds. The main thing wrong with them is that they tabs are not long enough to fit around a baby's body to velcro them to the front. So even if they were the best materials, they still would be unusable."

Okay, folks. You may have heard rumors that there's a lady who sells $5 diapers online that are made with tablecloth material instead of PUL, and we might just have finally tracked her down. And what is that brown fabric that she lined the last diaper with, felt? Honestly? 100% polyester, water-resistant, non-washable, FELT? This is not just atrocious workmanship, it's false advertizing. Her website specifically says the soaker is 3 layers of flannel, which is really not nearly enough, anyway. (Not to mention the PUL she promised.) And this is not the first person I've heard from who hasn't even been able to put the diaper on their baby because the tabs won't fit. How do you decide to make diapers for sale without ever actually trying one of your diapers on a baby?

One last thing - I'v just become more convinced about the Prep and Posh connection. Not only has Prep and Posh been accused of using tablecloths instead of PUL, as we see happening here, but look at the velcro tabs. See the square of velcro on the outside of the tabs that's for crossing the tabs over one another on a small baby? None of the diapers pictured on Ladys and Lads have that. The ones on Prep and Posh do.

Updates

Here are a few recent developments:

- The 4131 Clarks River Road 425 Lot address that was previously posted appears to be ruled out as a possible address for Talisha Hernandez. One helpful person said that the satalite pictures on maps.google.com were clear, and "The third address is a highway! It takes you to an approximate location, but if you click those arrows there you end up under an overpass. Don't know where she'd plug her sewing machine up down there. . ."

- Regarding the idea posed to notify the local Paducah news stations, Lindsi and The Cloth Diaper Kid have provided this info:

WPSD is the local NBC station in Paducah, KY. (www.wpsdtv.com)

WSIL is the nearest ABC station, in Carterville, IL. (http://www.wsiltv.com)

KFVS12 is the local CBS station, but is actually located in Cape Girardeau, MO. (www.kfvs12.com)

The Cloth Diaper Kid also adds, "In my experience, WPSD is the better of the three news stations, and would be the best bet for sending in the story. They offer better local coverage. I don't have any direct experience with her, but she's making everyone around here look like hicks, rednecks, and scammers. I say go after her! Copy and paste the email you sent to KFVS12 and send it to WPSD."

- As of this writing, the Ladys and Lads site is down because of what the homepage calls "site maintinence". Perhaps the site is down for good?

- I have been asked to comment on this site regarding the connection between Ladys and Lads Boutique and Prep and Posh Boutique. There are several similarities between the two sites, such as:
  • The sites look almost identical in layout. I believe this is because they both use the same web-store host, which means they may or may not be connected.
  • Reviews I have read of Prep and Posh diapers have complained that they reek of cigarette smoke, which is a complaint that has also been made about the Ladys and Lads diapers. However, some people who have gotten diapers from Prep and Posh have questioned weather Prep and Posh uses real PUL in their diapers, or, as some theorize, tablecloth material - others have simply said that the PUL seems to be "really stiff", which doesn't sound like PUL at all. Ladys and Lads diapers, such as they are, appear to be made with real PUL.
  • The sites both mentioned that production was delayed because of an ice storm at around the same time. This is more convincing to me, but it might be because the two owners live near each other or Talisha just saw the Prep and Posh owner's excuse and copied it.
  • The strongest connection between the two sites seems to be that though the owner of Ladys and Lads calls herself "TeeChea" we, of course, know her as Talisha Hernandez. The owner of Prep and Posh calls herself "Lydia" but one customer of hers says she was sent an email from an address registered to Dee Hernandez.
This may surprise you, but I'm still not sure. When I compare the two sites, the pictures of the diapers are similar, sure. But since I've made a few diapers before, I can see some minor differences in the way they are sewn. For example, many of the Prep and Posh diapers are top-stitched. All in all, the Prep and Posh diapers seem to me to be a bit superior. Also, the Prep and Posh site seems to be much more professionally written, without the grammar and spelling errors that seem to be the hallmark of Talisha's work. So, is it possible that Talisha and "Lydia" are the same person? Or perhaps they're related to each other? Please comment on this post and tell me what you think! We can use any evidence that you can supply.

Reporting to Hyena Cart

Ladys and Lads has another store on the hosted by Hyena Cart (http://hyenacart.com/ladysandladsboutique/). While this store has been open for several months with no products listed, there is a possibility that Talisha "TeeChea" Hernandez will try to resume her diaper business there. In order to prevent that, a helpful poster has emailed the administrator of Hyena Cart and asked her to ban Talisha as a seller. (The store appears to have been closed for the moment, but of course that could change at any time.) Today she posted the administrator's response:

"Hello,
Here are two emails from Hyena Cart (TeeChea's next website). I urge you ALL to respond!

'Also, could you ask anyone who has unresolved transactions with this seller to contact us at support@hyenacart.com? Thanks.'

As well as this one:
'It would also be helpful if you would all be willing to send screenshots of your unresolved transactions page on Paypal to payments@hyenacart.com (not the helpdesk -- attachments don't work here). If I am to enforce this suspension, I need fairly hard evidence that this seller has cheated customers in the past.' "

Talented Talisha - Seamstress, Secretary, and Paralegal Too!

Jennifer posted this today:

"I received a few emails last night from Talisha pretending to be a paralegal from Illinois. I knew it was from her because it was the same IP address she uses. And it was from a yahoo email address and very, very unprofessional. Anyway, she threatened to sue me for creating this blog, which you all know, I didn't. She claimed it was illegal to post a sellers address on the interenet. She's just getting scared. That's not even true. Once you start operating a business from your home, you lose that privacy. It's like saying it's illegal to post Applebee's address. She also claimed I was guilty of slander, but of course, I've never said anything untrue about her. Maybe she should get back to work sewing and not coming up with new aliases."

I must say, the first thing that occurred to me on learning this is that Talisha must think we believe she's rather wealthy, since she's trying to convince us she has enough money to coax a paralegal to work on a Sunday evening. Also, any paralegal would know that by definition, "slander" only applies to spoken words, while "libel" is the term that applies to written/published words. Not to mention the fact that Talisha's spelling and grammar haven't improved any. Can you believe she's trying to start a clerical business?

The primary thing I take from this email, though, is that Talisha has just confirmed for us that one of the addresses that are listed on this site is correct. In case you missed them earlier, here they are again:

2860 Pool Road 4 Trlr, Paducah, KY 42003

307 Hayes Ave., Paducah, KY 42003

4131 Clarks River Road 425 Lot, Paducah, KY 42003

A quick search on Mapquest.com will show you that all 3 of thes addresses are real, and all within a few miles of each other:

Whether there is a "4 trailer" on 2860 Pool Rd, I'm not sure, but the satellite photos from www.terraserver.com appear to indeed be showing a trailer park. 4131 Clarks River Rd, however, does not seem to show any houses of any kind, but of course the blurry images are hard to make out. It could just be the address of an empty lot.

Either way, it's clear that Talisha is nervous. In spite of the fact that she seems to have abandoned Ladys and Lads (negative comments on the site are no longer being taken down, it hasn't been updated in a while, and all the products have been removed), she still is worried enough about this site to harass random people. It's also clear that she has no idea who created this site. Maybe she hopes she can just email a bunch of people and eventually someone will fess up.

Spreading the Word

Skinner.B posted this story:

"Hi all! Well, I too am a very frustrated & furious scammed customer just like you. Same story as everyone else: saw an ad on the Portland, OR CL & purchased 10 diapers ($62)via Paypal from Ladysandladsboutique on 2/13/09(what a true FRIDAY THE 13th that turned out to be) and never received a thing nor will I ever :-( Like all of you I received several emails from her ranging from explanations of why the diapers were taking so long to emails firing off her mouth at those who were posting nasty things about her on the cloth diaper community boards.

Flash forward to last week and that's when everything got ugly. She had sent out an email to people saying, "If you don't want to wait, ask for a refund" so I did. When I never heard back from her I got nervous so I started searching for info on the net about her. I found warnings galore on CL, Diaperswappers, etc and decided to report her to IC3, FTC, her vstore, paypal and my local police as well as post warnings on CL. So glad I did as I've had a lot of response from mamas who'd been ripped off by her who emailed to thank me for spreading the word about this wicked woman. I even had the police officer who took my report say she saw my DIAPER SCAM - BEWARE!!! post on CL - yahooooo!!!! The word is out Teechea or Talisha or whoever you are!!!!

I've also posted a negative review on her ladysandlads site and it's STILL THERE along with about 5 other scathing reviews. Keep 'em coming people!! Let's get this woman behind bars!!!

How can we find out where she really is and get the police and/or local news involved??"

Skinner.B, the only answer I have to that question is - by banding together and sharing our resources. That's what this site is for, and thanks to people like you who are willing to tell their story and lodge reports, it's accomplishing it's purpose.

200 Warned

We just surpassed 200 visitors to this site, today, on the 5th day since it's conception. I've been hearing about people posting links to this site all over the internet, and I couldn't be happier. To me, this is all just a testament to the power of word of mouth, and people banding together for a common cause. I know I depend heavily on recommendations from others on the web before I buy online, and now is my chance to give back to the same well of information that I draw from.

But it's more than that. I believe that there are those in this world who prey on others, and the only reason they can do so is the fact that many people don't speak up about it. Whether it's because they don't know how, or because their afraid of repercussions, or simply because it's too much trouble, I don't know. But it's gratifying to see how many people are willing to speak up when they were taken advantage of, not just to benefit themselves, but to prevent the same thing from happening to others. They are speaking up in so many ways - posing on message boards, sending out emails, and of course reporting Ladys and Lads to every agency available.

Thank you so much for everyone who has stepped up. You truly are making a difference.

How to Dispute a Transaction Through Paypal

For those of you who paid for you order from Ladys and Lads through Paypal, you can lodge a dispute directly with them. Here are some things you should know, from the Paypal site:

* You have 45 days from the payment date to open a dispute.

* To dispute a transaction, click the Report a Problem button in the Resolution Center on the Paypal site.

* You must wait 7 days after the transaction to allow for shipping before opening a dispute for an item not received.

* Transactions older than 45 days cannot be disputed but should still be reported. PayPal tracks seller performance trends in the event we need to take action to protect other buyers.

* You and the seller then have 20 days to resolve the dispute or escalate it to a claim.

* Paypal
places a hold on all funds related to the transaction until the dispute is resolved or closed.

* By escalating a dispute to a claim, you are asking PayPal to review it and decide the outcome. They try to resolve cases within 30 days.

When I filed my dispute with Paypal, the seller had a deadline to respond to the dispute, but she did not respond. Because of this, Paypal decided the case in my favor, but they were not able to recover any money from her account. (In my oppinion, she probably drained the account ahead of time.) Paypal has told me, however, that they will recover the funds for my if and when they become available. (I assume this means if money gets deposited into the account, but it occurs to me that this very site being in existance might be discouraging people sending her money.....)

I have also heard from people who have filed Paypal claims and just before the seller's deadlins to respond, she has responded by saying she shipped the diapers. Either way, please file a claim! Paypal says they will "track seller performance trends" and "take action to protect their buyers", and I believe they will follow through - their reputation is a much bigger deal to them than Ms. Hernandez's reputation apparently is to her.

Takin' Names

Thanks so much to SenoraE, who posted this today:

"Filed with PayPal (even though it's over 45 days, still wanted to file
a complaint), and the IC3 today. Wasn't sure if I had the old phone #
attached to PayPal (that was fake) or the current cell, but I put it in
anyway. I put a copy of this web address in the "witnesses" section. I
also included information from
http://whois.net/whois/ladysandladsboutique.com even though it's not
Kentucky. I figured it couldn't hurt to pass it along.

Keep 'em coming, ladies! The more information they have the better! :)"

And On Top Of All That, Bad Phone Manners Too!

This story is from Toree:

"I ordered 5 AIO's on Feb 21st, 2009. I have not received any diapers. I have emailed her countless times requesting an update as she promises on her website. I have gotten responses of "Your order will ship out next week. But I've gotten the same email 6 weeks in a row!! Yesterday I got an email that she shipped them and would email the DC# later that day. Well, she has not emailed it to me yet. And will not respond to my email asking her for it. I have a feeling that she has not made them and is lying about shipping them. I am scared she will just say they got lost in the mail and it's not her problem.
I called her cell phone number, and she hung up on me as soon as I mentioned who I was and why I was calling. I also posted reviews on her website, but she deletes them or changes the wording. And then she says that I am scamming her!!??!! HUH???
I am so mad at this evil woman. She has my money, and my diapers, and she makes me sick!!"

As Toree points out, you can write a review on the Ladys and Lads website, and say whatever you want. They are soon deleted by the owner, but for a short while your review will warn any potential buyers. After I left a negative review, my account on Ladys and Lads was deleted, but I just made a new one with a fake name and email address. You are supposed to get a confirmation email before your account is official, but you can still post a review without confirming. Please post a review!

See Them For Yourself

A woman names Christa was one of the lucky ones who did receive a diaper from Ladys and Lads. She was disappointed, to say the least. She says, "I only ordered two thank God! Here's what you get for $5 AIOs (I actually ordered All in Twos but hey): The outside fabric is just as I ordered and expected. The inside fabric is some sort of very cheap polyester flannel material (she told me that all the materials would be cotton). The shape of the diaper seems to be good. The stitching is horrendous (this is what it would look like if I tried to make one, hmmm...) and the soaker is sewn in crooked in both. Last but not least, the PUL is only on the back of the soaker part!!! Now this is my first AIO but I'm pretty sure this won't work, right? Oh and wait... they smell like smoke. I'm a former, sometimes still do, smoker and I can smell it a mile away and these reek!" She sent me these photos so we could see what it looks like:

She says, "I washed the diapers once and put them on my son (the white stuff is just powder from trying on the diaper). They wouldn't even stay on. The elastic was too tight for the size of the diaper and so it pulled on the velcro until it gave way." Note how the soaker is sewn in crooked and off-center, and there is no top-stitching around the edges of the diaper.

She says, "This is after I'd ripped a couple of seams and turned them inside out. The blue stuff is the PUL lining." You can see how the PUL only covers the soaker area. How will it keep the moisture from leaking out the sides if it's only covering the center? The leg elastic area is the most likely place for leaks, and in this diaper it's not protected at all. The huge seam allowance on the PUL also explains the bunchy apperance of the diaper from the outside.

If That's Your Real Name...

This is a story posted by Jennifer, who actually spoke to the owner of Ladys and Lads, Talisha Hernandez, or "TeeChea":

"I ordered from this woman about 9 weeks ago. I have not, nor will I ever get my diapers. When I had asked about my order, she would always say she was shipping the next Monday, but they would never come. I have asked for a refund and she said she would do that in the order my payment was received by her. It doesnt take that long to process refunds. One afternoon would do it. Anyway, after asking for a refund, she sent several nasty emails to me. Her paypal account is registered to Talisha Hernandez. So when I sent a paypal money request that was the name on the request. She got really mad that about that and said her name is "TeeChea" and she knows nothing about that name. Thats even the name her website is registered to. She's crazy! She also used a fake address and phone number when registering with paypal. I did find out her cell phone number and when I called and told her what I wanted, she hung up on me. Later I called and talked to a man and asked for Talisha. He said she wasnt home, so it is indeed the right number. She is a liar and scammer. I dont think I'll ever see my money."

An Order Received! Or Was It?

Here's another story that was posted today, from someone who actually ended up receiving a diaper:

"I ordered one (thankfully just one) diaper from her in late January. I did not receive it until early March (6 weeks had passed). She said she was w/out power for 10 days, which I understood, but then by week 4, she claimed it had been lost in the mail and returned to her, but having heard that same line from many others, I now believe that was a lie. When I rec'd the diaper it was not what I ordered at all. I ordered a fitted and she sent me a pocket with PUL. My son is allergic to PUL so we were not able to use it. The quality was not as expected, but I guess if I'm paying $5 for a diaper, what should I expect? I tell you no matter how much money you spend on something, whether its a quarter or five thousand dollars, its your money and you expect good quality and good customer service. Her customer service was terrible after that. Seems she was a fair weather seller - so long as everything is fine, she's fine. But the minute you raise a complaint, she becomes very rude and unwilling to help. She denied she sent me the wrong thing and never offered a refund. She did offer an exchange, but after it taking 6 weeks and the quality of the diaper, I didn't want a replacement. She kept me on her mailing list and I kept seeing these cover up emails she was sending out in mass. I called her out on her scams and then she threatened to report me for harassment and slander. She reported me to some yahoo group, Diaper Digout. We exchanged several nasty emails which finally ended. But then a few weeks passed and yet another mass email surfaced from her. I couldn't take it. I went off on her and told her I was reporting her to the FBI and local authorities if she did not remove me from her mailing list. I have not heard from her since. Thank God. I never want to have to deal with someone like that again! I've heard so many people get absolutely screwed over by her. And though my story isn't as bad as some of what you all have experienced, it just goes to show her character and the repeating lies she's been handing all of us. I would like to see her business shut down so she is unable to scam anyone else."

Report This Bad Apple

There is a group on Yahoo that runs a database of "bad apple" cloth diaper sellers, called the Juicy Apple Report Just sign in and follow the directions on the home page to send a report of your dealings with any cloth diaper seller.

Until I reported Ladys and Lads today, there was no record of them in the database. Please post a report so that others will be warned!

Keep those stories coming!

Thanks to those of you who have submitted your stories in the comments section. Keep them coming! Here is another story, this one from Lindsi, who placed her order 14 weeks ago!

"I ordered 10 custom diapers on 1/24/09...from an ad I saw on Craigslist. I was promised my dipes in 3 weeks. A month passed and I received an email stating she was behind due to an ice storm that left her without power. Fine.
After that, I had received FOUR different emails in a span of SIX weeks stating my diapers were complete and to be shipped. I've sent her nice emails...and I've sent her nasty emails. The nasty one's get quite the response!
Here is her response: (Oh and note it's been 14 weeks, and still no diapers!)
'Hi. Don't you ever email me with that type of attitude. That will only get you IGNORED. I explained that I was behind due to weather. Sorry if it is something about that part that you don't understand. Say what you want. Nope the diapers are YOUR problem. So, if you want them, you better wait on them. So, if you don't like this TOUGH. Cause you say what you want and call whomever you'd like, I will gladly give you the number. I will also be reporting you to the Diaper Digout because of your attitude. So, you should be hearing from them soon. You won't be able to buy diapers anywhere ONLINE. Don't like that TOUGH.

I get sick of you people thinking that emailing me with an attitude is gonna get your order to you ANY SOONER, because I can put your order back at the bottom. So, there once again the diapers are your problem. Call the better business bureau if you'd like. They will simply hang up on you. So go ahead and do what you want. If someone owes you something, its common sense to email them in a decent manner so that you will get what is owed to you. So wait until you get your items before you become a bitch,. ' "

Report Ladys and Lads

For those of you who have lost money to Ladys and Lads, here is a website where you can submit a complaint to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (a partnership of the FBI and NW3C): http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx You will be given the opportunity to submit all the details of your transaction and any websites or email addresses of other victims. Please submit your case! It's much more likely that something will be done if many people complain, instead of just a few. Selling someone an item and then never sending the item is stealing, plain and simple, and theifs need to be reported to the police or they will never stop taking people's money.

Another Story

Here is the story of SenoraE, who sent me her story because she, too, lost her money to Ladys and Lads:

"I also have a similar story. I ordered 5 custom diapers in February, and still nothing. She promised me that my diapers would ship twice (three weeks ago), and that they had shipped once (two weeks ago), but the next email said that they would ship out in a week. I requested a refund, and then I received an email asking if I wanted a refund to which I replied YES, but it has been a week and still no refund. The PayPal dispute time has passed, and I didn't file because she sent me an email that the diapers would be mailed (this was after 6 weeks, then 8 weeks, then 9 weeks, and still NOTHING). I am very disappointed, as they looked cute, but the customer service has been ATROCIOUS. I wouldn't have been nearly as upset if I the diapers weren't back on sale for $5 again. If you haven't completed your orders from FEBRUARY, how can you possibly be selling things on sale again?!?! VERY disappointed and frustrated and WANTING my money back."

My Story

I started this site because I have become aware that I am only one of many people who have been taken by Ladys and Lads Boutique , a cloth diaper maker who claims to be a work-at-home mom (WAHM). Even though I dilligently looked for information on this seller before buying, it wasn't untill later that I began hearing from the many others like me. Because of this, I started this site to inform people who are trying to get more information on Ladys and Lads, and to help those who have lost money by sharing information and resources.

Here is my story:
I placed my order for 20 custom-made cloth diapers from Ladys and Lads on March 1st, after much consideration. I originally heard about the site from a Craigslist post placed by the seller. I thoroughly looked over the site, examined the pictures, and Googled the site name, and found no more information, then I decided to place my order. The primary selling point was that the cloth diapers were on sale for $5 each, for any style. I was sent an email after ordering that said my diapers would be shipped in 4-5 weeks. A few weeks later I discovered a diaper-swapping forum with several discussions of people who had major problems with this seller. They said they had waited months without recieving any diapers, that they had been told the diapers were shipped and given fake tracking numbers, and some said the seller even claimed that they were the ones who were "scammers". Over the next several weeks I emailed the seller several times, and I was always told that she was "just about to start" my order. Eventualy I filed a claim through Paypal in the hopes of getting my money back. The dispute was decided in my favor, but Paypal was unable to retrieve any money from the seller's account.

If you have lost money to Ladys and Lads, please comment on this blog so that others who are considering buying from this seller will be warned. In future posts I will continue to provide information on other ways that we can try to prosecute, warn others, or just get our money back.
